Women are central to the growth and progress of any community. When women are empowered, the entire society benefits and takes on new energy. In the past, women were often denied the chance to share their voices or take part in decision-making. Today, change is happening, and our organization is committed to supporting women’s groups in their journey toward empowerment and independence.

We run programs that encourage women’s entrepreneurship and provide opportunities for skill development. We believe strongly in the abilities of women and stand beside them at every step of their progress. By fostering confidence and creating pathways for growth, we help women unlock their potential and contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.

Chhahari Krishi Ekal Mahila Firm, Sunakothi

The Chhahari Krishi Ekal Mahila Firm is a special initiative that brings together 25 single women, all above the age of 60, to work collectively in agriculture. This farm is more than just a place to grow crops;  it is a space where women can share their strength, skills, and experiences while building financial stability and supporting one another. By working together, they are not only improving the farm’s productivity but also creating a supportive community that values their capabilities.

Through KHF (SoD Nepal), significant investment is being made in agriculture with a strong focus on the well-being of these women in Sunakothi. The program emphasizes their health, daily financial security, and empowerment, ensuring that they can live with dignity and independence. This collaborative effort highlights the power of collective farming and shows how women, even in their later years, can lead meaningful change in their community.

EG Multipurpose Agriculture and Livestock Farm

The program ‘Support in Agriculture for Sustainable Income Generation of Deprived Women’ is helping women in Thakre village, Dhading-8, to farm together through the “EG Multipurpose Agriculture and Livestock Farm.” Women of this group now share a large piece of land where they grow fruits and vegetables collectively. This approach replaces traditional individual farming, allowing them to produce more, share skills, and strengthen community bonds. It also helps them move toward sustainable production and greater food security.

With training and guidance, the women are learning modern farming methods that improve harvests and income. The program is not only about growing crops but also about empowering women, giving them confidence, and building a stronger future for their families. By working through the EG Multipurpose Agriculture and Livestock Farm, the project supports both women’s livelihoods and the overall development of the community.

Women leadership
CO-OPERATIVE & PRODUCTIVE INVESTMENT TRAINING

A woman plays an important role in the development of a community. If we could empower women then the community can take a new life. Since the histories of women are always dominated by men in every other aspect, they were not even allowed to keep their views in front of others. But change has begun, and our organization mainly focuses on women’s groups towards their development and empowerment. We conduct many such programs that deal with women’s entrepreneurship. We believe in the capability of women and support them in each and every step towards development. Surveying the need for the different programs SoD Nepal supervised a co-operative and a coffee shop to raise overall development.

The Co-operative conducted by SoD Nepal provides training, jobs, and fair working conditions. Training of women in rural areas, micro-credits, legal assistance, and scholarship for poor children are the most essential things to empower women and shape their future.

tailoring & handicraft training

In collaboration with KHF, Sod Nepal has been running sewing and tailoring training since 2017. Training and production centre named Bharosa production house has been organizing training for different batches with different participants. The training has been targeted towards single, unemployed or marginalized women from poor, needy or ethnically disadvantage background residing in Gorkha. The training aims to uplift the social-economic status of these marginalized women and to enhance their access to income-generating opportunities.

Recently 5 numbers of women are working in the production house where school uniforms, khada, sanitary pads, masks and kurtha suruwal are made. Even though the women here are working very hard and they have earned a bit. Due to the less efficient sewing machines, they haven’t economized much. The equipment is old and can’t work efficiently as a result thick clothes like tracksuit can’t be made. Despite labouring hard women are not earning as much as it should be. The poor condition of the equipment delays the delivery to the customers. Hence the women are not getting good feedback. Therefore new electric sewing machines are the most need to sew all types of clothes on time. If they get the new modern pieces of equipment they can earn accordingly for their livelihood.

Women Health

Women Right

In the rural area, women still there have traditional thinking that women should not express her opinion among the men if so it is called over reacted towards men and so called ‘hen tackles to cock’ so that women are suppressed by men. To reduce these social problems and encourage to women for their involvement in development work of society SoD Nepal has conducting many awareness programs to promote women rights.
