CHHAHARI KRISHI EKAL MAHILA FIRM

This project under women empowerment mainly focuses on the Sustainable income generation of the single women in the Chhahari Farm. Moreover, by providing support, opportunities, and resources, we enable single women to break free from societal constraints and embrace their full potential. Empowerment equips them with the tools to thrive independently, pursue their dreams, and make significant contributions to society, dismantling outdated stereotypes and paving the way for a more equitable and inclusive world where every woman’s unique journey is celebrated and valued.

OUR CONTRIBUTIONS

1. MODERN TUNNELS AND IRRIGATION ( Infrastructure)

Tunnels and water irrigation systems are indispensable tools for off-season plant cultivation, playing a vital role in addressing the challenges posed by adverse weather conditions and seasonal limitations.

The 9 modern steel tunnels have been constructed on the farm, designed to facilitate greenhouse cultivation, providing controlled environments for optimal plant growth.

Also, the excavation of a well with 35 rings is undertaken as a strategic solution to address water scarcity and sustain irrigation efforts within the context of the project. The well, often considered a traditional yet highly effective method of accessing groundwater, serves as a critical resource for agricultural activities.

The women in the Chhahari farm receive awareness and training from SoD Nepal, facilitated by highly experienced and professional trainers from time to time. This training encompasses various aspects such as organic compost production, off-seasonal planting, crop management, market management, leadership, women health, cooperative management and many more trainings as per their requirement.

The single women from the Chhahari community are deeply involved in the cultivation of a variety of vegetables, including tomatoes, chilies, spinach, mint etc. Their unwavering commitment showcases their strong interest and active role in all aspects of farm management. The use of tunnels and water irrigation has significantly improved their off-season vegetable production. Additionally, they have embraced modern agricultural technologies, enabling them to grow vegetables year-round without facing any equipment shortages or interruptions. Women are working hard in the field and earning for their livelihood. This has enhanced sustainable income generation in single women of the community.
